Inflation to Continue Outpacing Housing Prices, Economists Say Economists say the troubled housing market is unlikely to fully stabilize until at least 2016, and growth in home prices will not keep pace with inflation for the next three years, according to data from 54 economists surveyed by The Wall Street Journal and reported Dec. 9.

Fed: Residential Mortgage Debt Down in Third Quarter Residential mortgage debt dropped during the third quarter, and fell at an annual rate of 1.75 percent, which is slightly less than the first half of the year, according to the Federal Reserve’s Flow of Funds report, HousingWire.com reported Dec. 8.
