Encourage Associate members to enroll in the Candidate for Designation program by Aug. 31 so that they receive $55 off the 2013 program fee of $450. Associate members who elect to become Candidates will be considered Associate members until the program officially begins on Jan. 1, 2013.
Program benefits include:
- Dedicated advisors to help Candidates on their journey to designation,
- Program support from the local chapter and
- Structured timelines with milestones to help keep Candidates on track.
As the program progresses, chapters' role is to:
- Identify Designated members as potential advisors.
- Encourage Designated members to become advisors.
- Invite advisors to join your chapter's Candidate Guidance Committee.
- Have a list of advisors available for Candidates.
- Know advisors' responsibilities.
- Know the tools and resources available for Candidates.
- Work with staff to better identify remaining requirements for Candidates and to schedule appropriate education offerings.
- Assist with contacting Candidates to maintain their candidacy.
- Provide networking opportunities.
The Candidate for Designation program is consistent with the new strategic vision previously approved by the AI Board of Directors. This vision will implement a sweeping transformation by 2016, moving the organization from its present professional association business model to a professional society business model.
